Basics of Injection Molding

It's helpful to understand the basic injection molding process:

  1. Material Selection: Various materials, mainly thermoplastics, are chosen based on the desired properties of the final product.

  2. Melting: The selected material is heated in a barrel until it reaches a molten state.

  3. Injection: The molten material is injected into the mold cavity under high pressure.

  4. Cooling: The material cools and solidifies within the mold.

  5. Ejection: The solid part is ejected from the mold, completing the cycle.

This process allows for the rapid production of intricate parts, making it a favored method in industries such as automotive, consumer goods, and medical devices.
